I am neither ego nor reason,
I am neither mind nor thought,
I cannot be heard nor cast into words,
nor by smell nor sight ever caught.
Neither knowable, knowledge, nor knower am I,
Formless is my form.

Ghost Hunting Success!!!! | 9:28PM TUESDAY, 31 DECEMBER 2002
|
I have just not long returned back from a trip to the haunted site which is known as Moons Moat. I set off on foot at 8.05pm and arrived there at 8.25, not bad for a distance of 2 miles nearly. It was very cold and quiet with hardly anyone around when I arrived there. I walked around the site first which looked quite spooky in almost complete darkness and silence except for the light reflections on the surface of the moat pond and the sound of a gushing stream.
Theres a footpath which leads right close past the moat and is very creepy, it was at this point I had my first experience. Just ahead in a clearing of trees I saw what appeared to be a luminous white shape next to a large tree. It was only there for a second or two and then it was gone. It may have been light reflecting from somewhere, but I cant be sure. I can't say it was a ghost because I didnt have long enough to see it and unfortunately by the time I got my camera out, it was gone and didnt reappear.
I started recording with my minidisc recorder at this point and asked if anyone was there and wanted to speak. I left it running and walked around the moat getting as close as I could asking questions every so often, leaving a long pause inbetween. It's said that sometimes ghosts can sometimes be recorded at very level frequencies which inaudible when played back, but can be heard on a PC using special software which detects voice patterns at low freqency. I will have to do that and see if anything is there.
Ok, now for the most exciting part... I started taking photographs randomly, from every angle of the moat. I made sure the lens was clear and nothing was infront and that there were no lights or anything which could reflect flash in the path of view. On THREE of the photos, a strange orb like shape of light can be seen clearly. Even more bizarre is that on 2 pictures taken just seconds apart, the orb shape is seen in the bottom left of the first picture very clearly and brightly, and then in the second picture, the orb appears to have moved upwards diagonally so that it appears higher and further away, and infront of a tree trunk! Totally bizarre. I havent altered these photos in anyway and they're straight out of my camera. I cant find any explanation for these orb like affects. I will have to examine these photos and the other dozen or so more closely using filtering software.
I didnt feel any presence or anything at the site, and although quite a creepy place, I was happy to stay there longer and watch for anything. However, my camera flash attracted the attention of some yobs who started being abusive (granted, it must have looked odd a guy standing on a muddy bank by a moat taking photos!) so I decided to make an exit and call it a night.
Well I did it. And I got something. My first proper ghost hunt! :->

New Years Eve! | 11:07AM TUESDAY, 31 DECEMBER 2002
|
This is my last entry for 2002, so its gonna be a long one. Make yourself a drink and get comfy..
I am a little late getting up today as I started my new years eve celebration early yesterday. :-} Today I have some important biznis to do so I cannot go out drinking. Nope. Today I am going GHOST HUNTING! I shall be visiting site of a mediaeval moated homestead called Moons Moat which is known to be a haunted place. I shall be found at this place this evening, sitting on the bank of the moat (or maybe standing), armed with my camera and recorder incase of any paranormal activity. Some might say this is sheer madness. I could be celebrating the new year and wetting my beak instead. I agree. However, this is something I have to do tonite. The ghost legend states that the ghost of the lady only appears on new years eve which is when she is believed to have drowned in the moat. I feel compelled to investigate this since I've known about this for many many years, and have even walked through the site many times as its a short walk from my flat. Unfortunately, I have no luck finding any information on the ghost story online, despite many hours of searching. Also I cannot remember the book I read the story in, it may have been Haunted Britain, but I'm not sure so I may just have to go go along and see if anything happens.
Good news, my antique cigerette case has turned up! I went into my favourite pub, The Cross in town yesterday evening, and a new (and rather attractive) barmaid handed me my case :-> Smashing. I never thought I would see that again.
Yesterday I had to play Santa again and deliver some more (late) presents to people. (Nixy's present still has to be posted, when I can find a safe way of sending it..may have to deliver it in person if I can find a translator to help me with those Welshy signs). Yesterday I received also some very excellent presents, a Vegetable Encylopedia which is the most amazing book ever, tons of cooking help and receipes, and a book on painting and some oil pastels. All these were given to me by Keith, my moms fiancé. Thanx Keith!
My shopping arrived yesterday and as you can see, there is a strong oriental/chinese theme going on. Thats because I love all things Chinese now and I've also taken to eating from little Chinese bowls with chopsticks :->
TV is not looking good tonite, surprisingly. Party at the Palace is showing on BBC1 at 9.15pm which might be worth watching, some good acts. Then theres a film on, Virus at 10.30pm on BBC Choice.

funny weekend | 2:00PM SATURDAY, 28 DECEMBER 2002
|
It's Saturday. But it doesn't feel like it. I had to sleep on the sofa last night after Mike nicked my bed when he crashed at mine after a Friday night out. Fanx for the pix Debs ;-}
I have flu so I'm feeling a bit rough. I also lost my antique cigerette case so I'm pissed off.
I've discovered a new Smiths song called Sweet and Tender Hooligan which is cool, Helen's husband sent it me earlier.
Being the holidays, its a good time to take in some movies. I watched the classic Godfather II yesterday, the best of the 3 films in my opinion. If you have BBC Choice, you're in for a real treat, the cult film, Rosemary's Baby is screening at 22:30. This film is on my top 10 list of greatest films. Don't miss it! There's also another film on BBC Choice after at 00:40 called Stigmata. I haven't seen this film, but it looks interesting and worth watching.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a lucky and happy New Year for 2003. *customary smile* *raising wine glass* Cheers. (end Christmas message)

The madness is nearly over, so is 2002 | 10:19AM TUESDAY, 24 DECEMBER 2002
|
*stretches* ooo I must have crashed out early last night. I remember taking my brothers presents over to him and having some drinks. Well, my Christmas shopping has been a disaster this year, and it started off so well. I had planned to get my mother digital TV but its not available in her area yet, so that was ruined. Then I bought my bro a cool minidisc recorder which turned out not to be so cool, as it didn't work properly. Sheesh. Luckily I managed to get a better one cheaper and he was delighted with it. He had to have his presents early as he is going on holiday abroad this morning.
Just a few more things to get today and I'm done, I can kick back, relax and make a start on those 24 Stella's :->
I have been so busy this past 2 weeks with Christmas, work and other stuff, so I haven't been updating my journal as often as I usually do. I've got a new hobby, collecting..Chinese and Japanese antiques, ceramics and porcelain. I'm really hooked on this stuff now and bought quite a few pieces to start a collection which I intend to keep in my glass display unit, all lit up :-)
My latest acquisition is a Chinese Qing Dynasty style full service set. It's hand made in the town of JingDe in province of JiangXi. I was able to tell this
from the markings on the bottom with a help of a cool Chinese friend of mine who knows about Ceramics. Take a look at this picture, isn't this stuff so cute! Tiny rice bowls and tea cups, little sauce dishes and ceramic spoons. This stuff was made was for the domestic market and the guy who sold it me actually went to China to purchase it and brought it all back to the UK! It's all in mint condition, apart from some breakage on one of the sauce dishes and sadly the rice serving spoon, although these breakages can be easily repaired.

Been a busy week socially, been out a few nights this week and spent a bit too much, when I need to be saving my pennies for christmas, shame on me :-/
Right, lets get down to biznis. Littlewoods Catalogue company = Bag of shite. This is the WORSE company I have EVER SEEN in my life. How can one company be so dumb? July 2002, summer, nice hot weather. I place an order for a pair of black mens sandals, yeah, from Littlewoods. Finally get sandals in August, kiddy size 8 sandals, half the size of my foot. I tell Littlewoods, 'no worries, we'll collect and sort it' FOUR months later, sandals still not collected, but weh-hey, I get a new pair of sandals, right size? WRONG. kiddy size 8 again. Now I got 2 pairs of kiddy summer sandals and its winter. How u gonna do that huh? Sheesh. Check out my letter to Littlewoods. Littlewoods gets a full five stars for lameness and is also the offical winner of my DUMBEST COMPANY OF THE YEAR AWARD 2002.
I have discovered O2 free txt messaging service. If you're a person who txt's alot check it out - 100 free msgs a month from their website. You can save urself a tenner a month with this, nice one.
