I'm a hardcore Linux user and like nothing better than spending hours messing with computers and software. I have a collection of vintage computers which includes an Apricot Xi machine as well as some very early palm-tops or pocket PC's and laptops.

I currently operate a small in-house network which includes a custom made AMD Athlon 2.4Ghz server, HP Kayak workstation and a Toshiba 9000 wifi laptop all running Ubuntu Linux. I also have a Casio E500 Palmtop, a HP 2300dn laser printer and an Epson Stylus DX4000 inkjet printer which are all networked using CUPS Linux printer server software. HP and Toshiba are my favourite computer manufacturers and I've always stuck with these companies over the years for their build quality and reliability.

I also have a keen interest in MythTV. I setup a MythTV server on my network and a number of MythTV frontend machines which enables me to watch and record live TV over wifi.

As well being a part-time Web developer, I'm also a keen Perl programmer and spend a lot of my time writing programs. I taught myself how to program a couple of years ago. It started out as something I did out of necessity for my work, but some became a full blown addiction. I just love to code. I find myself getting withdrawal if I don't get time to do any programming.

I wrote the program which powers this website, a large program for operating an online store and I'm also working on another large program for selling on eBay.

Some of my source code is available for download from this site for those interested.
