Just when I thought I had solved my bed problem with the Aerobed I bought last year (see my glowing review here). The thing has turned out to be a complete waste of money and not designed for daily use, despite what the retailer and manufacturer stated.
The first one I had started leaking air and was promptly replaced under warranty. I've had the replacement about 3 months and now it too is also leaking air. I'm waking up in the middle of the night on a hard floor. Grrrr.
My sleep cycle has been bad enough this year without the added problem of not having a decent bed to sleep on. I'm reluctant to buy a normal bed again for two reasons. Firstly, I live in a tiny flat and a double bed would permanently take up a huge amount of space. And secondly, I don't seem to have much luck with mattresses and always end up replacing them within a year or so which is expensive at £100-£150. I'm reluctant to invest in an expensive one in case it too turns out to be a waste of money.
So now my search continues for a bed solution that is comfortable, durable for every day use, but portable or at least folds away. I'm thinking some kind of sofa bed..
UPDATE: Homebase where I bought the bed from are now trying to wriggle out of honoring the 3 year warranty on the bed I bought from them last year. Read about it on my review page. They picked the wrong guy to mess with.
FURTHER UPDATE: A month after doing battle with Homebase I finally got them to concede and offer a refund after I contacted ConsumerDirect the very helpful government's consumer advisory department. It turns out I was right, Homebase/Argos Group were trying to skirt around the law and avoid their legal responsibilities.
